About the HB-840 Traverse
The Traverse is Hingeback's 12-window workhorse — the wheel that goes with everything and works everywhere. The 12 evenly-spaced windows with a slight concave profile give it a classic rally look updated for modern overland rigs. Each window edge has a subtle chamfer that catches light and creates a ring-within-a-ring visual effect. The Traverse competes directly with Method's iconic MR305 NV at a lower price point, with the same 12-window DNA but Hingeback's signature color options. Burnt Copper on the Traverse is arguably the best-looking wheel-and-Defender combination on the market.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Traverse compare to the Method MR305 NV?
Both are 12-window designs and the comparison is intentional — the MR305 is an icon. The Traverse matches the NV on load rating and sizing, but we offer it in Burnt Copper and Matte Gunmetal finishes that Method doesn't make. Method's advantage is their Street-Loc lip and lifetime structural warranty. The Traverse is $40-80 less per wheel depending on size. If you want the Method name and the lip bolts, get the NV. If you want the color options and value, the Traverse is your wheel.
Does the Traverse fit a Land Rover Defender?
The new Defender (L663, 2020+) uses a 5x120 bolt pattern. The Traverse is currently available in 5x127 and 5x139.7. We're tooling a 5x120 run for Q3 that will cover the Defender, BMW X5, and Discovery 5. Join our email list and we'll notify you when the 5x120 Traverse drops.
Is 12-window stronger or weaker than fewer spokes?
More windows generally means more, thinner spokes — but the Traverse compensates with a thicker cross-section and T6 heat treatment. The 2,750 lb load rating matches our 6-spoke and 8-spoke designs. The 12-window pattern actually distributes impact loads more evenly because there's always a spoke near the contact point, regardless of wheel rotation position.
